Course Reserves Submission Guidelines

Fall 2016

  1. Lists and personal materials received by the deadline are guaranteed to be available on the first day of the semester. Requests submitted after this date will be processed in the order they are received. Instructors will be notified when their reserve lists have been processed and items are available for use.

  2. The following may be placed on electronic reserve: ONE article from an issue of a journal, THREE articles from a bound volume of a journal, or ONE chapter from a book, provided that the material does not comprise a significant proportion of the work (issue, volume, or book). To place multiple articles from one issue or more than one book chapter on e-reserve, permission must be obtained from the publisher/copyright holder. The UGA Libraries are not responsible for copyright clearances or permissions. More information on Fair Use and Copyright can be found here.

  3. Please provide all requested bibliographic information on the Reserve List form. The names of titles listed on the class syllabus should be consistent with the way they are noted on the reserve request. Personal copies of books or photocopied material will have in-house call numbers assigned when they are processed for course reserves.

  4. To retain a reserve list from a previous semester, please complete this form by the deadline. Current course reserves will be removed at the end of the semester unless a retain list request has been received.

  5. In compliance with copyright law, passwords are required for e-reserves and must change each semester.

Instructors may choose to have reserves imported into the eLC . Please check the eLC option on the online reserve form or contact the Course Reserves staff at 706-542-2081 for more information.
