Athens-Clarke County Extension Service
A cooperative venture between the Athens-Clarke County Government and UGA, Cooperative Extension provides education and information for all citizens of Athens-Clarke County in the areas of agriculture, horticulture, the environment, families, food and nutrition, and financial security.

Athens Farmers Market
An organization of local farmers, craftspeople, and volunteers working to make locally grown food and sustainably produced food and crafts available in Athens. Markets on Saturdays at Bishop Park and Wednesdays at Creature Comforts Brewing Coompany, April through December.

Athens Farm to School
Connects school communities with local farms and food. Seeks to increase kids’ and parents’ engagement with food, nutrition and agriculture, serve fresh healthy meals in school cafeterias, and support small local farms.

Athens Land Trust
Athens Land Trust’s Community Agriculture Program seeks to support neighborhood revitalization by developing a sustainable local food system in some of Athens’ most food insecure communities, strengthening the local economy and building unity and wellness at the community level.

Athens Locally Grown
A group of nearly a hundred small farms and gardeners located around Athens who share a dedication to community, environment, health and the benefits of sustainable agriculture practices. Standards ensure that everything produced is chemical-free, fresh, and of the highest quality.

A group of local nurseries with varying specialties who share the common goal of producing quality plants.

Daily Groceries Co-op
A community-owned cooperative grocery store offering local and organic produce, vegetarian and vegan products, deli items, supplements & more.

Jackson ECO Farm
An learning academy dedicated to environmental & agricultural education and celebrating the 'farm-to-table' agriculture concept. Holds special events, teacher workshops, and engaging outdoor learning experiences.

Slow Food Greater Athens
The mission of Slow Food is to bring good, clean, and fair food to all and to link the pleasure of food with a commitment to community and the environment. Seeks to provide access to sustainably produced, harvested and prepared food in the greater Athens area and to educate consumers about the economic, social and health benefits of locally grown food.

Spring Valley EcoFarms
A non-profit organization focusing on education, research, and outreach to promote more ecologically sustainable agriculture.

UGArden
UGArden is a student-run learning and demonstration farm located just south of the main University of Georgia campus. The mission of UGArden is to build a community of students centered on a sustainable food system.

West Broad Farmers Market & Garden
A community-driven, education-oriented, weekly farmers market that supports local economical development & community wellness. The market features locally produced fruits, veggies, dairy, baked goods, and crafts. Open every Saturday 10am-2pm, with a produce stand every Tuesday 4pm-7pm, from May to December.

A no-kill nonprofit organization dedicated to lowering area euthanasia rates through adoption, spay/neuter and pet retention programs. Provides an online gallery of adoptable cats and dogs.

Athens Canine Rescue
A nonprofit volunteer network of foster homes dedicated to rescuing dogs in the Athens area and placing them in permanent homes. Website features a gallery of dogs available for adoption.

AthensPets
A volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to finding permanent homes or rescues for animals at Athens-Clarke County Animal Control.

Cat Zip Alliance
A nonprofit organization working to reduce the number of homeless cats and put an end to unnecessary euthanasia and feline overpopulation by promoting the principles of responsible community cat management. CZA serves as an umbrella organization for Campus Cats and other programs.

Helping Paws Rescue
The Helping Paws no-kill shelter (a division of Pawtropolis) is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming unwanted and neglected pets.

Clute Barrow Nelson Life Foundation
A non-profit charitable organization established to help children with cancer by providing financial assistance to families in need.

The Cottage
Provides support services for survivors and families impacted by sexual assault and child abuse. Services include a 24-hour crisis and information hotline, medical advocacy, legal advocacy, counseling referrals, prevention education, and emergency financial assistance for basic needs.

Court Appointed Special Advocates
Athens-Oconee CASA trains and supervises community volunteers to advocate for children who are victims of family abuse or neglect. Volunteers represent the interests of children in court proceedings and strive to ensure the child has a safe, permanent home.

Downtown Ministries

Piedmont Gardeners

GLOBES
Gay, Lesbian, or Bisexual Employees and Supporters of the University of Georgia.
