Donors to the University of Georgia Libraries
A walk
through the various collections within the Ilah Dunlap Little Memorial
Library reveals the generosity and vision of our donors. The many plaques
that grace the walls identify those who have helped build to spaces,
collections and access tools for generations of Georgia students and
researchers.
The
building and collections themselves remind us of the benefactors who
so generously invested in the University of Georgia Libraries. The Ilah
Dunlap Little Memorial Library, opened in 1953, honors the memories
of Mrs. Little, her husband John D. Little, her father Samuel Scott
Dunlap, her brother Samuel Scott Dunlap Jr. and her first husband Leonidas
A. Jordan. Mr. and Mrs. Little left their entire fortune to the University
of Georgia Libraries for a new building.

The
University Libraries uses gifts to preserve materials we already own,
to purchase new library materials in a variety of formats, and to purchase
equipment and new technologies.
Gifts
are welcomed in a variety of forms such as cash, personal or real property,
stock, wills, insurance, or bequests. In many cases, a gift can offer
significant tax benefits for the donor. For more information, please
