Memory Lane
Do you remember those halcyon days of your youth? Do you recall those wonderful times spent on the UGA Campus and the friendships you made and the people you hung out with?
You do? Great! Then we need your help!
The University Archives, a unit of the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, preserves over two centuries of the University's history in the form of official records, images, plans, publications and artifacts. Its mission is to acquire, organize, preserve and publicize such materials and to assist researchers in their use.
What we have discovered, however, is that many of the people in the photographs from the Pandora yearbook, the Georgia Alumni Record, and other sources, are unidentified. We have put some of these unidentified photographs on the back cover of the 2010 Spring and Fall editions of the Libraries’ newsletter, Beyond the Pages, and we asked for the public’s help in identifying the people in the photograph. The responses we’ve received have been so much fun and have led us to create an online collection of photographs on the photo site, Flickr.
If you recognize anyone in the pictures we’ve provided – or if you find yourself! – let us know! You can email Development Officer Leandra Nessel at lnessel@uga.edu or you can give her a call at (706) 542-3879.
