Willson Media and Oral History Gallery

The Willson Media and Oral History Gallery shares the history of modern Georgia politics and government by featuring the voices of those Georgians who lived and experienced it firsthand. Drawing on the Russell Library’s extensive oral history and audiovisual collections, this gallery features interactive displays that encourage visitors to engage with these digital primary sources. Created as an active space, the gallery includes the Bob Short Oral History Studio where Russell Library staff conduct and record oral history interviews.

The Willson Media and Oral History Gallery is a gift of Jane S. Willson to support the mission of the Richard B. Russell Library for Political Research and Studies to document and preserve the modern political history of Georgia.

Jane and her late husband William Harry Willson have long been supporters of education and the arts. In May of 2006, Jane was awarded an Honorary Master of Laws by the University of Georgia.
