December Deadlines for Libraries Spring Instruction Support

Submitted by Camie on

December deadlines are approaching for UGA Libraries services that will aid in instruction of your Spring 2025 classes.

Libraries Course Reserves

The UGA Libraries’ course reserves services help faculty to provide students with easy, no-cost access to readings and supplementary course materials personalized to class curricular needs whether through electronic materials that can be integrated into eLC or through physical items that can be held on reserve at one of our library locations.

Materials planning and support services are currently open for summer and fall semester courses.  To ensure availability for the first day of classes, all reserves must be submitted by December 5. Please see below for additional information regarding course reserves.  Any questions about course reserves, can be sent to: mainresv@uga.edu.

Special Collections Instruction

In addition, instructors planning to schedule instructional sessions with Special Collections materials during Spring Semester 2025, please make sure to contact the Special Collections instructional team to arrange session(s) on or before December 9.

Please request instruction via the Special Collections instructional request form. Alternatively, if you regularly work with a member of the Special Collections instructional team, please contact them directly with requests. A member of the instructional team will respond to your request with follow-up and booking information within one business week.

Other Libraries Instruction

Other library instruction requests with academic engagement librarians to teach research skills, information literacy, and other lessons for your courses can be submitted at any time via this request form.

Additional Course Reserve Information

What can be placed on course reserve?

  • All materials owned or licensed by the UGA Libraries, including physical or electronic versions of books, articles, audio-visual materials, maps, etc. For books or other items in a physical format, instructors can place items on reserve shelves at one of seven UGA Libraries locations, choosing a student loan period from 2 hours to 7 days.
  • If the library does not own the item, we will do our best to purchase a physical or electronic copy

For questions about the fair use of materials, refer to our guide on copyright which includes the USG Copyright Policy, or send us an email.  To request course reserve materials, complete the online form
