Please join us at the Athens-Clarke County (ACC) Library on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 1pm to 5pm, as we welcome The Caravan for Disability Freedom and Justice to Athens and honor and celebrate all individuals with disabilities. Their arrival to Athens is part of a transcontinental movement visiting various cities to promote the vision of building community and coalition through education, awareness, and empowerment. We will applaud and highlight the long, ongoing history of disability advocacy in Georgia and across the country.
This will be an afternoon of great community engagement, with voter registration conducted by the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections, information from the UGA Georgia Disability History Archive, and so much more. For questions about the event, please contact Stephanie Bergamo at sbergamo@multiplechoices.us. For more information about the Caravan, please visit The Caravan for Disability Freedom and JUSTICE 2024 – Visiting states in the United States to celebrate Disability History (thedisabilitycaravan.com).
We hope to see you there!
