The UGA Libraries’ course reserves services help faculty to provide students with easy, no-cost access to readings and supplementary research materials personalized to class curricular needs. Materials planning and support services are currently open for summer and fall semester courses, including an electronic reserve option that can be integrated into eLC. Requests submitted by July 21 are guaranteed to be available by the first day of fall semester classes.
Course reserve services provide easy access to a wide variety of materials owned or licensed by the UGA Libraries, including physical or electronic versions of books, articles, audio-visual materials, maps, etc. In addition, the services include the purchase of electronic copies of books that are used as course readings, where possible, as well as scanning and electronic distribution of printed journal articles and book chapters, within the limits of copyright. For books or other items in a physical format, instructors can place items on reserve shelves at one of seven UGA Libraries locations, choosing a student loan period from 2 hours to 7 days. Details are on the course reserves website.
