Quiet Exam Carrels
The Main Library offers 6 Quiet Exam Carrels for currently-enrolled UGA students. Carrels contain a work surface, chair, outlets, and a door that closes for testing privacy. These carrels require students to bring their own device.
Carrels do not have headphones or speakers. If your test requires audio, you must bring your own headphones.
While the carrels are located on a quiet floor, they are not soundproof. If you find ambient noise distracting, please bring your own earplugs.
To access the carrels, please notify a Security Staff employee at the Security Desk on the 1st floor of the Main Library as they will need to unlock the carrel for you.
Terms & Conditions:
- You can Reserve a Quiet Exam Carrel online using your UGA ID. Reservations can be made up to 2 weeks ahead of time and for up to 4 hours at a time. Pay attention to both preparation time and test length when selecting a reservation time.
- Reservations are available during hours that the Main Library is open, in set blocks of time that are pre-designated and that cannot be changed.
- Carrels are designed for exams that are flexibly scheduled and independent from a fixed testing time and date. These are sometimes called asynchronous exams.
