Exhibit, A Chance to Play: Title IX and Women's Athletics at UGA

This exhibit explores the origins of women’s athletics on the University of Georgia campus from their origins in the 1920s through the passage of Title IX in 1972. The display celebrates some of UGA’s most accomplished student-athletes and coaches who have helped to set a standard of excellence in women’s athletics.

Exhibit, Georgia On My Mind: Finding Belonging in Music History

Georgia on My Mind: Finding Belonging in Music History explores the state’s music history through the genres, places, and performers that have helped to define music in Georgia over time. Curated by graduate student Maggie Neel, the show highlights moments in time with a focus on the intersection of music and community.  The exhibit displays an array of performance costumes, instruments, concert posters, and other ephemera that bring music history to life.

Join us for the 2022 Lillian Smith Book Awards Ceremony, which will be held virtually on September 29, 2022, at 7 p.m. ET. The Lillian Smith Book Awards are sponsored by the Southern Regional Council, University of Georgia Libraries, DeKalb County Public Library/The Georgia Center for the Book, and Piedmont College.
