Join the Russell Library for a program with James C. "Jim" Cobb on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 4:oo p.m. in room 271 of the UGA Special Collections Building. Following a talk about his new book C. Vann Woodward: America's Historian (UNC Press, 2022), Cobb will participate in a Q&A with the audience and book signing. Light reception to follow. This event is free and open to the public. An Afternoon With John Pruitt

Join the UGA Libraries for a program with journalist John Pruitt on Thursday, January 26th at 6:00 p.m. in room 285 of the UGA Special Collections Building. Following a talk about his new book Tell It True, Pruitt will participate in a Q&A with the audience. A light reception will follow. This event is free and open to the public. Hargrett Family Day: Medieval Manuscripts

Hear ye, hear ye! Join the Hargrett Library on October 22nd from 1:00PM to 4:00PM for a Medieval Manuscripts Family Day! Watch fencers, paint with traditionally made pigments, view medieval manuscripts, watch historical performances, enjoy story time, and more! Light refreshments will be provided.

Film Screening and Meet & Greet with Bill Cody, Producer of Athens, GA/Inside-Out

Released in 1986, Athens, GA/Inside-Out documented the music scene of the Classic City in the mid-1980s, featuring local legends R.E.M., Pylon, The B-52's, and more. Over 30 years later, Athens/Inside-Out 2: Red Turns into Blue captured a new generation of artists sculpting not only the music scene but the political landscape in Athens as well. 

Hargrett Happy Hour

Join us for our first ever Hargrett Happy Hour on Thursday, October 20th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Fashion historian Sara Idacavage will take us on a "behind the seams" tour highlighting the performance costumes on display in the new exhibition "Georgia On My Mind: Finding Belonging in Music History" followed by light refreshments in the exhibition hall. This event is free and open to the public; RSVP to jess.grant@uga.edu.
