Students will have a chance to take a break from studying at one of the UGA Libraries at Paws & Relax on Reading Day. The Main Library, Science Library, Miller Learning Center, and Special Collections Library will host therapy dogs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4. The outdoor event will give students a chance to get some comfort from furry friends. Participants at the MLC location will have the opportunity to enjoy a free coffee from Java Joy on the colonnade. Paws & Relax will also be held outside at Ramsey and Aderhold Hall.

Over the course of 6 weeks, 8 students have developed unique and engaging tour stops as part of the Special Collections Student Docent Program. Have you ever heard a sound that evokes a memory or an emotion? Listened to something that pulls you back to a particular place and time, a memory, a feeling? Sounds are an integral part of our knowing and being in the world, and yet they are often overlooked or flattened into textual representations in traditional research. Sonic inquiry is an interdisciplinary method of research that takes up skills and traditions from geography, anthropology, ethnography, and the arts.
