Collections Department

The Collections Department manages the acquisitions, stewardship, evaluation, and preservation of the UGA Libraries’ information resources in a wide variety of formats, both physical and electronic. We support the University’s research and teaching mission by ensuring the effective acquisition of library resources, stewardship of the Libraries’ materials budget, timely access to physical materials and licensed electronic resources, and preservation of our tangible collections.

The Collections Department works collaboratively across teams to effectively manage the lifecycle of our information resources. Our department comprises five teams, including Acquisitions, Binding & Preservation, Collections Strategy, Electronic & Continuing Resources, and Gifts.
