Upon the Russell Library’s relocation to the Richard B. Russell Building in 2012, the Russell Foundation contributed $1 million to the Library to supplement the planning, preparing, and conducting of programming. Not less than 25 percent of the funds expended in any year shall be devoted to programming referring directly to the career and legacy of Richard B. Russell, Jr. The intent is that the Fund will not supplant or reduce programming funds made available to the Library by the University, whose allocation will be commensurate to programming funds provided other special collections libraries at the University of Georgia.
