Recalling Items

An item that is charged out to another patron may be recalled online through the GIL Catalog. Recalls may also be placed at the Circulation Desk with the item's call number and your UGACard. When an item is recalled, the current loan period will be shortened. An emailed notice is sent to the current user informing them of the item's new due date. If more than one user has recalled the same item, each user will be able to borrow it for a two-week period in the order that the recalls were placed.

When recalling an item, you may choose the pickup location most convenient for you. When the item has been returned, you will be notified that it is available with an automated email alert. You can also check your "My Account" online to see if the item has been returned. If it is ready to be picked up, it will display under "Items Available"

UGA borrowers -  Recall fines are $1.00 per day per item. The maximum recall fine is $30.00 per item.
GIL Express borrowers - Recall fines are $2.50 per day per item. The maximum recall fine is $30.00 per item.

Items recalled for Course Reserves take precedence over other requests and will be available only as a Course Reserves item.
